Other than my hometown (where my parents still live in the house I grew up in) I lived in Minnesota longer than I have lived anywhere else. I haven't been back since law school graduation other than driving through it on our South Dakota trip in May and I am thrilled to be heading back this weekend. I never thought I'd be homesick for Minnesota when I moved there because I was so homesick the first few months, but I am so excited to go back. We're only going to be there for 30ish hours and there's so many things I want to do and people I want to see and not enough time to do it all! I'm going to the Basilica Block Party with Pinky and the Law (now defunct, I think) and her husband. We got a great deal on a hotel downtown so I want to try and hit up all my downtown haunts but there is only so much you can eat and drink in that period of time.
I also want to go to Mass at the Basilica (my old church) which is where I'd get married if I would get married in Minnesota, which we never would, because Mr. Ends Conservinator hates Minnesota with a passion. Unfortunate. How could you not want to get married in this church? It's beautiful. I have a bunch of favorite little shops I'd like to hit up too but some of the skyway ones aren't open on weekends or keep really short hours. I lived in the suburbs when I was up there and we aren't bringing a car so I don't think there will be time for all my favorite Minnetonka and Wayzata haunts either.
We got such a steal on this trip so maybe I'll get lucky and we'll get another good one in the future. My law school boyfriend is in the Army now and will be finishing OCS in August and getting sent back on leave for a little bit and I'd love to go visit him before he gets sent wherever they send him.
Minnesota, here I come!
They know me so well

Have a fabu trip to Minnesota!
To make the cupcakes, mix the cake mix as directed and fill cupcake papers in a muffin pan nearly full- like 3/4 full. When they cool, they sort of shrink a bit. But once you top them w "frosting" you can't tell. They are super delish!
